Summit Credit Union launches new summitcreditunion.com on L9 developed community engagement platform

4-27-2011

Summit Credit Union of Madison, Wisconsin has launched a completely redesigned website at www.summitcreditunion.com. The site has been in development by the team at L9 in collaboration with the Summit Credit Union marketing team since June of 2010. The site is built on a new platform developed by L9 to support functionality and management capabilities that create a perfect environment for community engagement.

As a visitor to the new Summit website, one can create an account and become part of "MySummit". This allows them to interact with the site in many ways, including commenting on just about any content, saving articles, product pages and rates, rating pages or articles, and creating or joining groups to foster discussion. Of course for those who don't wish to join MySummit, there are still many ways to engage including sharing via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, staying informed about location specific events, and much more.

The summit website is beyond a typical credit union website. Summit desired a site with three primary aspects to it...

  1. Life: This section of the site is full of great articles based on the lifestyle topics that a typical credit union member can relate to. There are articles about everything from household energy saving to the importance of friendships.
  2. Community: The community section is where many of the great new functions lie, including "groups", which allows any MySummit user to create a group about anything they like (other than religion and politics), and begin discussion with anyone else who joins the group. The "Mainstreet Connection" is a local business listing that is populated by MySummit users who indicate that they would like a business profile rather than an individual profile. The information required to complete the business profile is then presented within the local business listings for free. Businesses can also be rated and shared via social media.
  3. Money: Of course, there is the necessary "Money" section, which is a completely re-vamped new and improved version of the old SummitCreditUnion.com. The Money section also offers some of the great interactivity that Life and Community do, like saving, rating and commenting on products and other pages, as well as saving rates to your MySummit profile.

In the end, the Summit Credit Union website is one of the most engaging and complete credit union websites L9 has ever been involved with, and we are thrilled to celebrate it's launch.
